- Out of 4.5 grams of fat, 3.0 grams are Healthy fats, which increase the amount of good cholesterol in the body.
How many eggs are okay to eat in a day or week?
- Recently, The American Heart Association changed its guidelines to “there is no recommended amount of eggs that a person should consume in a week.” This is due to the fact that eggs are a healthy source of protein, and recently seen to increase good cholesterol not bad.
Is there a difference between White vs. Brown eggs?
- The color of the eggshell is related to the color of the hen. Brown hens lay brown eggs, while white hens lay white eggs. There is no difference in taste, or nutrition.
Choline? What is that?
- Eggs are high in a nutrient called choline. Choline is known to be especially important for pregnant and nursing mothers as well as children because it helps support brain development and health.
So many different kinds! What do they mean?
- Cage Free: Chickens are kept out of cages and are allowed to feed and get water when they like, but this does not mean they have to be outdoors.
- Free Range-means the chickens are cage-free and are also let to be free outdoors if safe, does not mean it has to be on a field though.
- Pasture-raised: Cage-free, and free-range, and the chickens were allowed to feed mainly on bugs, and greens. This type is the most reliable to be Free-Range on a field.
- Eggs can also be organic, omega-3 fatty acid fortified, vegetarian-fed, and hormone free.
* Most Eggs are not cage-free, not-free range, nor pasture-raised. These specialty eggs do not differ in taste, or nutrition significantly. Which one to buy is solely based on your own beliefs and preferences.
Eggs are incredible due to their nutrition and cooking versatility! IT can be scrambled, poached, baked, hard-boiled, along with other endless possibilities!
